When is it time for a new HVAC system?

HVAC systems are extremely durable, but they do have a lifespan. As time goes on and you begin to notice your HVAC system performing poorly or inefficiently, it may be time for an upgrade. Here are some considerations: Is the tech support reliable? How old are the ducts? Are there any problems with circulation? Does it still have enough insulation value to keep rooms warmer/cooler than necessary? When was the last time you had it serviced? If you’re experiencing problems with your HVAC system, it may be time for a replacement. It is important to get the right size and type of unit for your home; otherwise, the new system will be under- or over-powered. This can lead to increased energy costs and decreased comfort levels in your home. Here are a few things to look for when considering an HVAC replacement: Is the ductwork in good condition? What is the age of your current system? Do you need more than one system? If so, what size should each be? Are there any problems with circulation or humidity levels in your home? Is it still efficient at heating/cooling rooms as needed? If you are thinking about replacing your HVAC system, it’s important to look at all of these factors. Also make sure that your contractor is licensed and insured, as well as familiar with the latest technology in air conditioning systems.
